Ralph James Monroe's Obituary
Mr. Ralph James Monroe, age 67, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at his residence. Ralph was born on February 11, 1942 to George and Thelma (Gilbert) Monroe in Hart, MI. He served his country in the United States Air Force in Korea, France, and Germany. On September 11, 1964 he married the former Anneliese Burger in Homburg Saar, Germany. He was employed as a security guard at CWC Textron for more than 38 years, retiring in 2004. Ralph was a member of Evanston Avenue Baptist Church, the Lithuanian Club and a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge. He loved fishing and camping. Ralph is SURVIVED by his beloved wife of 44 years, Anneliese; children, James Monroe of Austin, TX and Suann (Tracy Rothacher) Sidock of Dundee, OH; 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers, Merlin Monroe of OR, William Monroe of Mountain Home, ID, Charles Monroe of Springfield, OH, and George Monroe of Muskegon; 1 sister, Pearl McKeller of Muskegon; 2 aunts; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, Richard Monroe. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 4:00 PM Thursday, July 2, 2009 at Evanston Avenue Baptist Church, 1188 Evanston Ave., with Pastor Shane Prewitt officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Johnson Cancer Center of Mercy Health Partners or Harbor Hospice.
