Ralph W. DeBoer's Obituary
Mr. Ralph W. DeBoer, age 82, died early Friday morning, April 8, 2005, at his home. He was born April 4, 1923 in Muskegon to William and Grace (Kamp) DeBoer and had been a life resident of the area. On March 14, 1947, he married the former Lorraine Sietsema. Ralph was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II, serving in both North Africa and Italy. He had been employed at Clarke Floor Machine for 34 and one- half years prior to his retirement in 1985. He was an active member of Unity Reformed Church. He was involved in crossgroup and seekers Sunday School class. He was also a member of the Happy Wanderers Trailer Club. Ralph enjoyed camping, gardening, playing cards and spending time with his family. SURVIVORS include his wife of 58 years, Lorraine; 2 sons, Richard (Susan) DeBoer and David (Barbara) DeBoer, both of Muskegon; 4 grandchildren, Ryan (Heather) DeBoer of TN, Kerri (Philip) VanDusen of Muskegon, Emily DeBoer of Muskegon and Derek DeBoer of Muskegon; 1 great-granddaughter, Natalie Grace DeBoer; 2 brothers, William (Rachael) DeBoer and Frank (Hermie) DeBoer, both of Muskegon and by 1 sister, Cora (Rolly) Hyma of Zeeland. He was preceded in death by his brother Jute (Mildred) DeBoer. SERVICES will be 1 PM Monday at Unity Reformed Church (1521 Porter Rd.) with the Rev. James Bos officiating. Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION will be 2-4 & 6-8PM Sunday at Sytsema Funeral Home, 737 Apple Avenue, Muskegon, MI 49442 (231-726-5210).
