Randall J. "Randy" Phillips' Obituary
Randall Jesse “Randy” Phillips was born on July 25, 1953, in Muskegon, Michigan. Randy was a product of the Catholic School system in Muskegon. He first attended St. Jeans elementary and was a 1972 graduate of Muskegon Catholic Central High School where he excelled in sports and lettered in both football and wrestling.
Randy was a graduate of Muskegon Day Trade Technical School and was employed for many years at Consumers Energy as a Nuclear Technician. He was mechanically gifted and restored several vintage cars as a hobby throughout his lifetime.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Jesse and Irene (Foster) Phillips; grandparents, John and Ann (White) Phillips of Blytheville, AR and Clifton and Samella (White) Foster of Muskegon, MI.
He leaves to mourn his loss and celebrate his life, his son, Dustin R. (Shalandra Tyler) Phillips of Muskegon, MI; the mother of his son, Sheila Doxey; bonus son, Roy Gilmore of Wichita, KA; brothers, Gregory (Pamela) Phillips of Holland, MI and David (Cynthia) Phillips of Woodridge, IL; sisters, Lynnette Phillips and Victoria Phillips, both of Grand Rapids, MI; and beloved aunt, Maxine Rogan of Kansas City, MO.
His life is also remembered and celebrated by a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, extended family and lifelong friends.
Randy’s family will welcome guest at a Memorial Viewing to be held from 2-7:00 PM on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444.
We miss him already, but we know that to be absent from the body is to be in the presence of the Lord. We trust that he will be welcomed into God’s presence as a: Good and Faithful Servant.
