Randall J. Ruiter's Obituary
Randall James Ruiter, age 63, passed away Tuesday morning, January 5, 2016. He was born November 1, 1952 in Muskegon to Harold and Patricia (Kocher) Ruiter. Randy was a U.S. Navy Veteran and had worked for Miller Moorehead Machine for many years as an electrical engineer. On April 28, 1990 he married Laura Lee Pollack in Las Vegas, NV. Randy enjoyed fishing, golfing, softball, and his Detroit Lions football team. But his family, especially his grandchildren, were most important to him. Five years ago Randy was the recipient of a new heart from an organ donor, which gave him precious extra time with his family. So if you have not already, please consider being an organ donor. SURVIVORS include his wife Laura; 4 children: Sharon (Gregory) Nelson of Layton, Utah, Jennifer Ruiter of Spring Lake, Benjamin Reimer of Norton Shores, Joshua (Mabelle) Lawson of Fruitport; 6 grandchildren; 3 brothers: Timothy Ruiter, Nicholas (Joyce) Ruiter, Christopher (Kathy) Ruiter; sister, Cynthia (Steve) Hitsman; aunt, Donna Hussey; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Michael Ruiter. SERVICES for Randy will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, January 9, 2016 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100. VISITATION will be from 5-7 PM Friday, January 8, 2016. Burial will take place in Fruitport Cemetery. MEMORIALS to Harbor Hospice or Gift of Life Michigan will be appreciated.
