Ray Ames' Obituary
Mr. Ray J. Ames, age 77, passed away Tuesday afternoon, December 21, 2004 in Muskegon. He was born March 14, 1927 to Archie L. and Rose E. (Eaton) Ames in Muskegon, and was a life resident. He worked for several years at Morton Manufacturing, retiring in 1971. He was a member of First Baptist Church, the Merchant Marines, and Sons of the Holton American Legion. He also volunteered at Mercy Hospital and the former Our Redeemer Lutheran School. On October 16, 1948 he married Geraldine M. Scheidegger in South Bend, IN, and she survives him along with 4 daughters, Mary (James) Hill of Muskegon, Margo (Chad) Bielinski of Muskegon, Ruth (Roger) Vanderstelt of Fruitport, Gina (Dennis) Brown of Muskegon; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Allen D. (Jolene) Ames of Muskegon; 2 sisters, Edna “Tootie” Berdinski of Reno, NV, Elna M. VanVliet of Muskegon. He was preceded in death by his older brother, Lawrence L. Ames, his twin-brother, Roy D. Ames, and a sister, Fern L. Wales. SERVICES will be 1:00 PM Thursday at First Baptist Church, 1070 S. Quarterline, with Pastor John H. Brown officiating. Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION at
