Mr. Ray Charles Martin Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. Ray Charles Martin Sr, age 65, of Muskegon passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2021, at Mercy Hospital. He was born September 28, 1955, in Chicago, Illinois to John Martin and Alberta Spruill- Peterson. Ray grew up in Chicago and later moved to Muskegon. He enjoyed fishing with his friends, watching football, basketball, and spending time with family. He was formerly employed by Holiday Inn as a cook.
He is survived by his wife, Movelean Jones; 4 children, Ray Martin Jr., Derreco Sims, Jasmine Martin, and Lorenda McCracy; 3 sisters, Doris Williams, Barbara Jones, and Lynette Harris; 2 brothers, Preston Martin and Bailey Martin and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Ray was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John Spruill and Ronnie Peterson; and sister, Mary Kirk.
A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 PM on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at New Light Baptist Church, (2436 Seventh St., Muskegon Heights, MI 49444) with Pastor Demetrius Dockery officiating.
