Raymond J. Decker's Obituary
Raymond J. Decker, age 94, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025, at Freedom Village in Holland, MI. He was born August 20, 1930, to Charles and Martha (Yonkman) Decker in Muskegon, MI, and remained a lifetime resident of the town.
Ray married Beverly Fielstra on September 14, 1955, in Muskegon. She survives as does his daughter, Renae Bishop of Ocala, FL and his son, Mark (Robin) Decker of Zeeland, MI; grandchildren: Kevin (Christie) Bishop, Brian (Keana) Bishop, Kyle (Abby) Decker, Kayla (Drew) Tubergen, and Tara Decker; and great-grandchildren: Lilliana Bishop, Landon Bishop, Luna Bishop, Finneas Bishop, Phoenix Bishop, Brielle Decker, Gerrit Decker, and Colton Decker.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: John Decker, Albert Decker, Ann Smith, Dorothy Schmieding, and Marian Buitendorp.
Ray worked for 40 years at Michigan Gas Utilities Company as a gas meter reader. He served in the Michigan National Guard. He enjoyed fishing, tinkering with cars, listening to Christian TV and radio, and visits with his grandchildren.
Private services will be held, and he will be laid to rest in Lakeside Cemetery.
