Raymond Lee Morse Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. Raymond Lee Morse Sr., age 72, went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 following a year-long battle with cancer. He was born in Muskegon on July 4, 1949 to Lawrence and Ruth (Johnson) Morse. Ray was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. On September 14, 1968, Ray married the former Denise J. Houseman in Muskegon. He owned and operated Designs Kitchen and Bath for over 20 years prior to his retirement in 2015. Ray was a member of Evangelical Covenant Church of Whitehall where he was involved in remodeling, maintenance, building upkeep, and participated in Life Group. He enjoyed biking, fishing, and camping; especially at Ludington State Park with their group of friends they have made over many years. Most importantly, he loved his family and especially cherished time spent with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Denise; children, Tracy (Dean) Watkins and Ray (Amanda) Morse Jr.; grandchildren, Allisa (Jason) Wood and Forrest Watkins; great-grandchildren, Iris, Ana, and Izzy Wood; brothers, Dan (Lisa) Morse and Randy (Sue) Morse; and sister, Janet (Shane) VandeVrede. He was preceded in death by his parents. A CELEBRATION OF LIFE will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Evangelical Covenant Church (900 Warner St., Whitehall, MI 49461) with Rev. Thomas Beeghly presiding. VISITATION with his family will be from 10-11AM Saturday. Burial will be in E. Dalton-Oakhill Cemetery.
