Raymond Edward "Ray" Sagala's Obituary
Raymond Edward “Ray” Sagala, age 86, passed away on April 21, 2024, in Muskegon, MI. He was born December 7, 1937, to Simon "Sam” and Rose (Vladika) Sagala, in Grand Haven, MI. He graduated from Muskegon Heights High School in 1956 and went on to work at Brunswick and then built hoists at Lift-Tech for a number of years. On November 8, 1958, he married Donna Carty. On December 7, 1974, he married Donna Routt.
Ray was a gifted musician and played in the Muskegon Heights VFW band and was an occasional member of the Scottville Clown Band. He was also a member of the Muskegon Heights Eagles.
Ray is survived by his wife, Donna; children and loved ones, Raymond Sagala Jr., Michael Sagala, Kimberly (Steven) Podolski, Lonnie Sagala, Darby (Jessica Bosma) Sagala, Kristen (Jeff) McFarland and Erin Sagala; and 4 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Rose and Simon; children and loved ones, Christopher Sagala; Phillip Sagala Jr; and brother, Phillip Sagala Sr.
A private family service has taken place. Raymond was laid to rest on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Mona View Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services (6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444).
