Raymond R. Small Sr.'s Obituary
Raymond Robert Small Sr., age 87, passed away early Thursday morning, April 22, 2021. He was born May 12, 1933 in Saginaw, MI to James and Helen (Clark) Small. Ray graduated from Arthur Hill High School in Saginaw and following graduation enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served his country during the Korean War. He worked for Howmet Corporation for 32 years prior to his retirement in 1990. In 1981, he married Mary Ann Seamen in Muskegon and she preceded him in death on November 5, 2019. Ray was a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, and riding his Cushman motor scooter. Ray relished in sharing stories of his life, growing up on the family farm, shenanigans with his friends, and his travels during his time in the Navy. But most importantly, he loved spending time with his family. SURVIVORS include 2 children: Raymond R. Small Jr. and Randy (Dawn) Small both of Muskegon; 2 stepchildren: Robert (Lindsay) Kriger and Kathy (Don) Giddings both of Muskegon; 9 grandchildren; sister, Harriet Combs of Saginaw; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved pet, Lucy. Ray was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers; and 2 sisters. According to Ray’s wishes, there will be no services. MEMORIALS to Hospice of Michigan or the Humane Society will be appreciated.
