I am Ken Bupp, formerly of Muskegon Heights. After many years, mostly away from music due to life events, I decided to get back into music with my clarinet, which I still have from high school, and my alto saxophone which I also still have since high school. I played clarinet until I met Ray, and Ray took me on as an advanced clarinet student. After a number of lessons, Ray told me that I would benefit by learning a saxophone and urged me to think about it. I spoke to my Dad who was agreeable and he bought an alto for me. I called Ray to let him know and he said "great, let's get started". I started alto sax lessons with Ray, but unlike my clarinet lessons, he taught me how to play swing music with it's style and rhythms on the alto. I was in high school then and played in a quartet made up of fellow student musicians playing for local area school events. Thank you Ray Stralko. I still remember our sessions in your house.
