Raymond Frank Suchecki's Obituary
Mr. Raymond Frank Suchecki, age 91, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, May 24, 2025 in Nunica, Michigan. He was born in the family farm house just down the road on July 10, 1933 to Frank and Elizabeth (Czinder) Suchecki. After Graduating from Grand Haven High School in 1952, he worked at Gardner-Denver where his sister Mary Ann introduced him to his classmate Louise Dault. On February 6, 1954, Ray and Louise were married and they enjoyed 65 years of marriage raising 9 children. He was the owner of Ray’s Quality Welding for 49 years prior to retiring to care for his wife. Ray was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spring Lake and the Knights of Columbus. Ray enjoyed the outdoors and spent 40 plus years on holidays at Round Lake camping, fishing & boating with their children along with family friends & relatives. He loved Michigan's UP where he hunted with his sons & others for 60 plus years. He was a Gold Card Member of The Polka Melodies that he listened to every Saturday & Sunday. He enjoyed eating Pronto Pups, Fricano’s pizza and Polish meat from Hooligan’s. Ray had an amazing collection of PBR memorabilia, was an avid Detroit Lions & Tigers fan and loved those Fighting Irish. He so enjoyed bowling at Starlite for 50 plus years & up until this past bowling season, still bowled at Pin Crest Lanes. He also golfed in a league at Terra Verde. Ray and Louise spent many nights with family playing euchre in their matching red, white and blue attire. Ray is survived by his nine children, Chuck (Geralynn) Suchecki, Dan (Sue) Suchecki, David (Audrey) Suchecki, Richard (Pam) Suchecki, Matt Suchecki, Mary (Randy) Cole, Tony (Cherise) Suchecki, Beth (Jim) Duddles, and Christopher Suchecki; 23 grandchildren; oodles of great and great-great grandchildren; brothers, Dave (fiancèe Joyce) Suchecki and Phil (Marilyn) Suchecki; sister, Helen Laufersky; and siblings-in-laws, Ruth Suchecki, Jerry Klotz, Ed (Phyllis) Dault, Pat Dault, Cathy Bogdan, Jane Simonte and Joe (Teresa) Dault. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Louise; grandson, Erick Thomas Suchecki; brother, Ed Suchecki; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Ann (Duane) Reames, Carol Klotz, Pat (Ed) Koeller, Bob Laufersky, Gloria Suchecki, and Norm Dault. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, May 30, 2025 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church (406 E. Savidge St., Spring Lake, 49456) with Fr. William R. Vander Werff presiding. Visitation with the family will be from 5-8 PM Thursday, May 29, 2025 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444, and one hour prior to his service at St. Mary’s on Friday. Burial will be in Nunica Cemetery.
