Raymond Floyd Wilkinson's Obituary
Mr. Raymond Floyd Wilkinson, age 87, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024 in Muskegon, Michigan. He was born in Eagle Township, Michigan on February 25, 1937 to Merle and Sadie (Carson) Wilkinson. Ray, a devoted veteran of the United States Marine Corps, proudly served his country from 1955-1958. Shortly after his discharge, he met the love of his life, Gwendolyn Faught, and they were married on July 16, 1960 at the Perry Congregational Church. Over the next 63 years, Ray and Gwen built a life together, moving to Muskegon in 1960 where Ray worked for 34 years at General Telephone Company before retiring in 1994. In his younger days, Ray enjoyed sharing his passions with Gwen, including square dancing and bowling. His lifelong love of model railroading was another source of joy. Ray was also a dedicated father who took great pride in coaching his children's sports teams and attending their activities. Later in life, Ray and Gwen delighted in supporting their grandchildren's many activities. Above all, Ray treasured the time he spent with his beloved family. He will be deeply missed by his children, Cynthia (Tony) Dykema, Steven (Julie) Wilkinson, Matthew (Amy) Wilkinson, and Joseph (Liana) Wilkinson; grandchildren, Scot (TJ), Kari (Dan), Keli (Ryan), Samantha (Tim), Dale, Kane, Sara (Jake), and Emma; great-grandchildren, Halo, Addison, Gracyn, Jackson, Raylee, Blythe, Palmer, and Barrett (due in March); and several nieces and nephews.
