Raymond C. Voss' Obituary
Mr. Raymond C. Voss passed away at Mercy Hospital on September 26, 2004 at the age of 93. He was born on February 20, 1911 in Muskegon where has always lived. His parents were Cornelius and Alice Voss. He attended Muskegon Public Schools and graduated from Muskegon School of Business. Ray married Florence Shepherd in Muskegon on October 6, 1935. He owned and operated the Parcel Delivery Company for many years and later the Port City Florist Supply which he co-owned with his son-in-law until his retirement in 1984. Ray was an ardent golfer, having played in the church leagues for many years. He was a lifetime member of First Reformed Church in Muskegon, having served on the consistory as Deacon and Elder for 50 years. He was a Sunday School teacher for many years where he won the love and respect of many children. Ray was preceded in death by one daughter, Kathleen (Voss) Ashcraft who passed away in November 2001. He was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, John Voss, Robert Voss, and James Voss. He leaves his wife; 1 daughter, Jo Ann (James) Krieter of Muskegon; and 3 grandchildren, Kimberly Brink and Eric Krieter, both of Muskegon, and Brent (Lori) Ashcroft of Grand Rapids. SERVICES will be 3 PM Wednesday at Unity Reformed Church with Rev. Kyle DeYoung officiating. Burial will take place in Norton Cemetery.
