Raymond K. "Kent" Johnson's Obituary
Mr. Raymond K. “Kent” Johnson, age 67, died Tuesday morning, August 30, 2005. He was born May 1, 1938 in Muskegon to Ray and Margaret (Vanderwest) Johnson and had been a life resident of the area. Mr. Johnson was a 1957 graduate of Muskegon High School. He worked 40 years for Brunswick Corporation before retiring in 1997. For many years he coached football for the Port City Boys Club and the Mona Shores Boys Club. He was on the Board of Directors for the Brunswick Credit Union and the Credit Committee, a member of the Muskegon Bowmen, the Vikings Linne’ Lodge 57, was an avid hunter and golfer, and a member of Central United Methodist Church. On August 22, 1959 he married the former Joann Wilson in Muskegon, and she survives him along with 4 children, Ricky (Lori) Johnson of Fruitport, Kenneth (Teresa) Johnson of Spring Lake, Diane (Jon) Jensen of Hudsonville, Barbara (Kevin) Workman of Norton Shores; 9 grandchildren, Erik, Kristen, Jake, Chad, Ryan, Kaitlyn, Brandie (John), Stacey, Joie; 2 great-grandchildren, Alex and Anna; brother, Paul Johnson of Muskegon; 2 nephews; special aunt and uncle, Gene and Phyllis Roberts; and special cousins, Don and Mary Vanderwest. He was preceded in death by his parents. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Friday at Central United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Randall R. Hansen and Chaplain Jan Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Mona View Cemetery. VISITATION will be from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Thursday at
