Mrs. Regina M. Swanson's Obituary
Mrs. Regina M. Swanson, age 95, passed away Wednesday morning, September 5, 2012. She was born February 3, 1917 in Ludington, MI to Walter and Johanna (Neumann) Kloss. Mrs. Swanson was a nurse’s aide for Mercy Hospital for 25 years before retiring. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Regina loved to dance and taught Polka, and also enjoyed playing Bingo. On May 8, 1937 she married Marshall S. Swanson in Ludington and he preceded her in death on May 8, 2000. SURVIVORS include her daughter, Marsha Van Haecke of Roosevelt Park; son, Robert W. (Linda) Swanson of Roosevelt Park; 5 grandchildren, J.R. (Vickie) Swanson, Mark (Kaylee) Swanson, Joseph (Sammi) Van Haecke, Lynn (David) Schuiteman, Sharon (Duane) Woirol; 7 great-grandchildren, Jarred, Colton, Brady, Kenny, D.J., Andrew, Samantha; sister, Betty Bennett of Ludington; and many special nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Floyd Kloss; 2 sisters, Helen Welbes, and Irene Harmon. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will take place 11:00 AM Monday at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church – Marian Chapel with the Rev. Fr. Julian Reginato presiding. VISITATION with the family will be from 2-5 PM Sunday at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., (231) 759-8565, with a Scripture Service held at 3:00 PM.
