Reginald "Reggie" Arthur Stroebe's Obituary
Reginald “Reggie” A. Stroebe, age 84, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.
Reggie was born on December 2, 1941, in Muskegon, Michigan, to Charles and Doniss (Akins) Stroebe. On May 29, 1964, he married the love of his life, Marilee Beighley, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Together, they shared 61 beautiful years filled with love, laughter, and unwavering partnership.
In January 1964, Reggie enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War as part of the 20th Engineer Battalion. His service reflected the same quiet strength and dedication he carried throughout his life.
Reggie had a gift for bringing joy to others, especially through his love of singing. Around town, he was easily recognized by his teal blue Corvair that was identical to the one he and Marilee drove when they were newly married. He found peace in fishing, took pride in being an active supporter of the American Legion in Grand Haven, and most of all, cherished time with his family.
Family was at the center of Reggie’s life. As his family grew, so did his joy – especially when it came to his grandchildren, who meant the world to him.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Marilee Stroebe; children: Todd Stroebe, Tim (Jennifer) Stroebe, Ted (Annie) Stroebe; grandchildren: Kristen (Nathan) Johnson, Marisa (Josh) Binion, Hannah Stroebe, Mia Stroebe, Jordan Stroebe, Ellayna Stroebe, Lydia Stroebe. He was also blessed with three great grandchildren.
Reggie was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Doniss Stroebe; brother, David Stroebe.
