Rex F. Dake's Obituary
Mr. Rex F. Dake, age 88, died early Monday morning, December 19, 2005. He was born February 28, 1917 in Fremont, MI to Jack and Myrtle (Lowe) Dake, and had resided in the Muskegon area for most of his life. Mr. Dake worked for Lakey Foundry for 37 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved his garden. On November 28, 1936, he married the former Mabel R. Pierce in Muskegon and she survives him along with 5 children, Rex E. Dake, Mabel A. (Earl) Kersting, Rebecca (Roger) Hancock all of Muskegon, Joseph (Pam) Dake of Fruitport, Claudia (Harry) Clark of Florida; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Dake; 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; 5 step-great-great-grandchildren; brother, Arthur (Roseann) Dake of Muskegon; sister, Olive Goetchius of Muskegon; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Frank Dake; 3 great-grandchildren; 1 step-great-great-grandchild; 4 sisters; and 2 brothers. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Thursday at Wolf Lake United Methodist Church with Pastor Bobby Cabot officiating. Burial will be in Egelston Twp. Cemetery. VISITATION will be from 5-8 PM Wednesday at
