Rhea Elaine Ruiter's Obituary
Rhea Elaine Ruiter, 85, of Spring Lake, passed away Monday, March 19, 2012, at North Ottawa Hospice at Heartwood Lodge. She was born August 11, 1926, in Muskegon, to Edward and Anna (Wagner) Wilk. She married Ernest H. Ruiter on June 27, 1947, in Muskegon. She graduated from North Muskegon High School.
Rhea had been employed with Continental Aviation & Engineering Corp. as a secretary, and then as a dental assistant for Dr. Nolan. Rhea was a member of Spring Lake Presbyterian Church, Covenant Reformed Church, a life member of the Beta Sigma Phi, Delta Master Chapter, and belonged to the Grand Haven Golf Club. Rhea was devoted to her family and friends. She enjoyed travel, golf, Ruby Creek, cooking, entertaining, crafts, and living at Liberty Woods.
Rhea is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Sandra Ann (Greg) Borden of Houlton, WI; sons, David (Terry) Ruiter of Centennial, CO, and Kenneth (Pam) Ruiter of Grand Rapids; granddaughters, Sara (Jason Kouw) Ruiter, and Anna Ruiter; sister, Norma (Donald) Nesburg of Charlevoix; and several nieces and nephews. Rhea was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest; sister, Doreen Kieft; and brother-in-law, Bob Kieft.
The Memorial Service for Rhea will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012, at the Spring Lake Presbyterian Church with Rev. Daniel Anderson officiating. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be in Spring Lake Cemetery. The family would like to thank the caring personnel at Hospice of North Ottawa Community.
