Ricardo J. "Rick" Williams' Obituary
Mr. Ricardo James Williams, age 50, died Saturday morning, July 24, 2010 at Mercy Hospital. He was born July 28, 1959 in Muskegon to Tomkin and Loretta (Chingman) Williams and had resided here until joining the U.S. Marines in 1978. Rick served in the U.S. Marines from 1978 – 1984. Following active duty he was an industrial equipment operator, before returning to Muskegon 5 years ago. He was a member of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians. SURVIVORS include 3 children, Colleen, Tiffany and Tomkin S. Williams of SanDiego, CA; 1 granddaughter, Lauren Angel Williams; Special friend, Denise Vos of Muskegon; his mother, Loretta Williams of Muskegon; 2 sisters, Karen (Peter) Pete of Manistee and Ethel Porter of Muskegon; 4 brothers, Pete (Donna) Chengman, Keith (Donna) Bussing and David (Stella) Adams of Muskegon and Jack Carney of Detroit. He was preceded in death by his father, Tomkin and 1 sister, Mary Beth Bussing. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11 AM Wednesday at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc.,6291 S. Harvey Street, Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231-798-1100)with Pastor Greg Stamm and Deb Gutowski officiating. Interment will be in Elbridge Twp. Cemetery. VISITATION with Rick’s family will be one-hour prior to the service. For a more lasting memorial you are asked to consider the American Cancer Society.
