Richard "Rich" Allard's Obituary
Richard (Rich) George Allard passed away peacefully on December 20th with his family at his side. He was born March 30th, 1951 in Benton Harbor, MI to JoAnn (Vogel) Allard and Elmer Allard. Rich grew up in Danville, Illinois and graduated from Illinois State University. In the mid 70’s he moved to Muskegon, MI and began an almost 38 year career as a printing salesman for Rogers Printing. After moving to the area, Rich met Janis Janusiewicz whom he married on June 27th, 1981. He was a longtime member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church.Rich enjoyed hunting and fishing including many years as a charter boat captain on Lake Michigan. He was also an avid golfer and traveled on many family trips. He was a lifelong fan of the Green Bay Packers through good times and bad. His lawn was the envy of the neighborhood and local lawn services who could not outdo him. Rich was a wonderful dad, but his love for his granddaughter was extraordinary. Rich is survived by his wife Janis, daughter Michelle (Jim) Johnson, beloved granddaughter Evie, brother Greg (Carol) Allard, brothers-in-law, Paul Janusiewicz, David (Mary Ann) Janusiewicz, and many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church (1110 Dykstra Rd.) with the Rev. Fr. Anthony M. Pelak presiding. Visitation will be held one hour prior to Mass, 10-11 AM Saturday at the church. Interment will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery. Rich was a supporter of the Muskegon Rescue Mission for many years. Memorial contributions may be made to the Muskegon Rescue Mission due to the extra hardships experienced by many in the area at this time.
