Mr. Richard P. Bobian's Obituary
Richard P. Bobian, 85, was born on March 2nd, 1932, to Duelet and Edith Bobian in Ludington, and passed away on April 25th, 2017, in Muskegon. Dick was an alumnus of Ludington High School, Michigan State University, and Western Michigan University, and was a U.S. Army Veteran. After a career in transportation, he retired from Shaw Walker in 1994. He had a great sense of humor and never heard a pun he didn’t like. Dick was an avid sports fan and loved watching many types of sporting events, especially those of his grandchildren. He married Margaret (Roonie) Johnson in 1954 and together they raised 4 children. Margaret preceded him in death in 1992. He then married Sharon Ward in 1998 and she survives him. Also surviving him are 3 children, Mike (Heidi) Bobian, Chris Bobian and Becky Bobian; 3 step-children, Tami (Rich) Strodtbeck, Rhonda (Jim) VanOss, Kristi (Kevin) Visscher; 5 grandchildren, Karson Visscher, Travis Caughey, Andrew Bobian, Allyssa Bobian, and Alex Visscher; several wonderful in-laws and a multitude of friends. Also preceding him in death were his parents, his son, Rick Bobian, and brothers, Nazar and Gerald Bobian. A CELEBRATION OF HIS LIFE will be held Saturday, May 6, at 2:00 PM at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to provide educational opportunities for his grandchildren, in care of Sharon Bobian. Burial will take place at Norton Cemetery.
