Mr. Richard Verne Brock's Obituary
Mr. Richard Verne Brock, age 56, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at home, surrounded by his family. Rick was born October 1, 1960 to Richard H. and Carolyn P. (Herrick) Brock in Muskegon. On December 20, 2004, he married the former Loretta Howey in Lapeer, MI. Rick was employed at Eagle Ottawa Tannery for 20 years prior to being disabled. Rick also did roofing and construction for more than 20 years. He was a race car driver at Thunderbird, Winston and 1-96 Raceways and enjoyed spending time with his boys working on cars and doing construction work. In earlier days, he was on a bowling league and enjoyed shooting pool. He loved his family and will be greatly missed by Loretta, his wife of 12 years; his mother, Carolyn; his children, Christopher (Jennifer) Hanson, Richell (Keith Huntoon) Moore, Raymond V. (Katrina) Brock, Rosanna (Jim Schuler) Brock, Richard P. (Stacy Huggett) Brock, Coty A. (Brittney) Brock; James Dean Wiles, Jamie Lee and Patrick Lee; grandchildren, Logan, Karly and Emily Hanson, Teddy and MacKenzie Moore, Eli Shears, Faith, Raymond, Alexzandria, Kyler, Cailarae, Kallyssa, and Brieonnah Brock, Brandon Torrie, Bailey Brock, Jayden, Brayden, and Zander Brock, Broty Brock, Cassie Lee, Cora Strait, Chase Strait and Jade Lee; great-granddaughter, Ari Lee. Rick was preceded in death by his father and granddaughter, Jaylee. A private family graveside service will be at Norton Cemetery. A MEMORIAL DINNER will be held from 5-9 PM Monday, March 6, 2017 at the VFW Post 7729 (6285 Apple Ave.) MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to the family.
