Richard Lee Buikema's Obituary
Mr. Richard Lee Buikema, age 82, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2026 in Muskegon, Michigan. He was born in Muskegon on July 8, 1943 to Wesley and Barbara (Pleimling) Buikema. He also found joy in simpler pleasures, like playing cards with family and friends, and he was a proud and loyal fan of the Muskegon Big Reds. Above all else, Richard treasured his family. He rarely missed an opportunity to attend his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and activities, always showing his support and love. Richard is survived by his children, Angela (Mark) Hunter, Brad Buikema, Paula (Hector) Garcia, and Traci Iaciofano; nine grandchildren, Michael (Shelby) Buikema, Brandy (Dominic) Patino, Jacquelyn (Ben) Ybema, Jeromie Herzhaft, Sunshine Garcia, Samuel (Merissa) Herline, Holly (Cole) Schroeder, Hector Aaron Garcia, and Ben (Kourtney) Garcia; many great-grandchildren; and siblings, James (Kate) Buikema and Roberta Miskowiec.
