Richard Burkholder's Obituary
Mr. Richard Burkholder, age 91, of Spring Lake passed away Saturday, January 27, 2024. He was born March 15, 1932, in Grand Rapids to Earle and Marian (Lamoreaux) Burkholder. In 1990 he married Kathleen Cummings and she preceded him in death on July 29, 2009.
Richard served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War where he was awarded the Bronze Star.
He is survived by 4 children: Robert Burkholder, Stephen (Monica) Burkholder, Deb (Andrew) Sherman, and Melissa (Chris, Sr.) Ashford; six grandchildren: Alexandria, Kayla, Christopher, Stephen, Andrea and Justin; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Donald and Nanette.
