Mr. Richard "Dick" E. Carlson's Obituary
Mr. Richard “Dick” E. Carlson, age 83, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2012. He was born December 20, 1928 in Muskegon to Edward and Irene (Wiersema) Carlson and was a life resident of the area. Dick served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked 30 years as a foreman for Sealed Power Corp. and retired in 1978. He married the former Eva M. Crawford in 1951 and she preceded him in death in 1985. He later married the former Bessie E. Crawford and she preceded him in death in 2008. Dick was an avid outdoorsman and was a skilled trapper, hunter and fisherman. SURVIVORS include his son, Lee R. Carlson of Shelby Township, MI; 1 brother, Donald (Esther) Carlson of Muskegon; his sister, Gloria (Bill) Hulka of Norton Shores. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, May 3, 2012 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey Street, (231) 798-1100, with Rev. John H. Brown officiating.
