Mr. Richard E. De Nio, Sr.'s Obituary
Richard E. De Nio, Sr. went to join his beloved Helen October 3rd, 2012. They were inseparable for 61 years with 5 children, 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Richard had many interests including driving his 1968 Bonneville. He enjoyed watching races and was a fan of Dale Earnhardt and Dale Jr. He was very proud of his career as a union truck driver and retired from Roadway. He was Police Chief of Egelston Township for many years and Constable for over 50 years. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen, granddaughter Kristine, and brother George. He left behind his little buddy Spot and is survived by his children: Richard (Julie) De Nio, Jr., Patricia (Ed) Hammer, Lonnie (Laura) De Nio, Randy (Pauline) De Nio, Kevin (Nancy) De Nio, and his brothers: Paul De Nio, David (Delores) De Nio, and Terry (Linda) De Nio. SERVICES will be 2:00 PM Saturday at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., (231) 726-5210 with Pastor Shane Prewitt officiating. VISITATION with the family will be from 6-8 PM Friday and one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Egelston Twp. Cemetery. MEMORIALS to Mercy VNS & Hospice will be appreciated.
