You were monumental to me, Mr. DuShane. You were my 6th Grade teacher at Robinson Elementary. I could not have asked for any one better! You made the year memorable and fun, it is my favourite year of schooling, besides my Senior Year at Grand Haven. I have thought of you often over the years and hoped life best for you. You know now, but your family needs to know that you are the reason I am teaching in the classroom today! You and my deceased husband, kindergarten teacher for 33 yrs, are my two great, wonderful and loving examples that I try to follow in my teaching style. Thank you, for so many fun and good memories. My prayers are with your family. R.I.P. Mr. DuShane. Forever hugs!
So sorry we missed the service, he was a good neighbor and will be missed
Mr. Dushane was my sixth grade teacher at Robinson Elementary. He coached me in track which led me to countless blue ribbons at the field day event.

I knew Rick AKA Mr. DuShane, since Elementary School, he was my school consular back then, played chess with him, beat me all the time LOL, a very soft spoken, understanding, kind man he was. The kind of man everyone should of became friends with :) Years later we would occasionally or maybe ALL THE TIME :D run into him having breakfast at the Rendezvous, normally we would be coming and he was going or vise versa. I am shocked as his passing was unexpectedly, he always seem to look to be in great health. I'm glad i got to know him all the years i did, a true gift from God he was :)
I have such wonderful memories of Rick Du Shane as my teacher at Rosy Mound. I am so sorry for your loss. He was a wonderful teacher, mentor, and inspiration to me. I am so glad to have known you. Thinking of you and your family. With Love, Theresa Lampe
What a wonderful person. Coach DuShane, was one of my first soccer coaches and ultimately coached me through my high school years. He introduced me to chess of which I have shown my children. He will be missed! Fondly, Christian Clickner

The news reached us here in TX, our new state of residency. Our thoughts are with you, Jeanne and family. My son played for him on the first HS soccer team. Rick coached an awesome team! We knew Rick going back to our high school days in the early 1960's. He will be so missed by everyone who knew him. Fondly, Bob and Sherry VanBemmelen.
