Mr. Richard "Dick" Engle's Obituary
Mr. Richard G. Engle, age 85, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2015, surrounded by family at his home. Richard was born on July 15, 1929 in Muskegon to Kenneth G. and Clara (Smack) Engle. Richard married the former Virginia Petrick on August 5, 1950 in Muskegon. He worked for 42 years as a machinist at American Coil Spring prior to his retirement in 1986. Dick was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church where he served as an usher, greeter and counter; and had previously attended St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church. He enjoyed woodworking and donated his handmade bird feeders. Dick is survived by his wife of 64 years, Virginia; his children, Ted (Ruth Ann) Engle, Diane (Thomas) DeVries, and Cindy (Thomas) Barberini; grandchildren, Kevin, Tommy, Melissa, and Emily, April and Eric; great- grandchildren, Mia, Tre, Audrey, Caleb, Elizabeth Wells, Finley Ann, and Brianna. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 11:00 AM Saturday, March 21, 2015 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 2929 McCracken, with Rev. Father Philip Salmonowicz as presider. VISITATION will be one hour prior to the service. Entombment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to Harbor Hospice or St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church Journey of Faith. Arrangements by The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W.
