Mr. Richard Arthur Evans' Obituary
Mr. Richard Arthur Evans, age 79, passed away Friday afternoon, February 2, 2018. Richard was born August 20, 1938 to Richard and Evelyn (Pigeon) Evans. On August 29, 1959, he married Yvonne Lucille Bourque and she survives him. Dick served his country in the United States Coast Guard. Dick was a graduate of the Lawrence Institute of Technology and went on to work as an industrial engineer for 45 years; first at Gibson in Greenville, then CWC, and retiring from Burley Engineering in 2006. Dick and Yvonne are members of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Dick was also past president of the Greenville Jaycees, The National Tool Association; as well as a member of Foundryman’s Association and the National Diecast Association. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and spending time with his puppy, Bandit. Dick also loved watching his grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s sporting events. Dick is survived by Yvonne, his wife of 58 years; his children, Richard Mark (Karene) Evans of Twin Lake, Mary Colleen (Douglas) Goebel of Ravenna, Robert Anthony (Jill) Evans of Walker, Nannette Marie (Michael) Chorny of Montague; 9 grandchildren, Richard D. Evans, Rachel Andrews, Samantha, Seth, and Shane Goebel, Cassandra And Zachary Evans, Brent (Vanessa) Chorny, and Ryan Chorny; 4 great grandchildren; a sister, Marilyn Chetosky of Troy, MI; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Norman Chetosky. A MASS OF CHRISTAN BURIAL will be 11:00 AM Monday, February 12, 2018 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1100 Dykstra Rd. with Rev. Fr. Godfrey Onyekwere presiding. VISITATION will be one hour prior to the Mass (10-11 AM). Memorial Contributions may be made to The Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Arrangements by the Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave, 231-726-5210.
