Mr. Richard E. Ferry's Obituary
Mr. Richard E. Ferry was born to Richard Ferry and Phyllis (Coad) Ferry on November 14, 1929 at 6:20AM in Muskegon. He passed away Sunday, June 14, 2020. Dick left Muskegon with his soulmate, Ronald Hays, in the summer of 1948 and moved to Chicago. He was drafted with Ron into the U.S. Army January 16, 1951. After basic, Dick was sent to Hokkaido, Japan then on to Korea. Dick was Honorably Discharged on October 17, 1952 and sent home. Ron came back to the States in November of the same year and the two moved to East Meadow, Long Island, NY and stayed 29 years. Dick and Ron retired and moved back to Muskegon in March of 1988. Ron passed away November 22, 1988. Dick was also preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis; brothers, John Ferry and Bob Ferry; and sister-in-law, Barbara Ferry (William). He is survived by his brothers, Fred Ferry and William Ferry; sister, Bonnie (Glenn) Knapp; sisters-in-law, Lynda Ferry and Barbara Ferry (John); and many beloved nieces, nephews and fabulous friends. An Outdoor Memorial Service will be held 11AM Friday, June 19 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church (1206 Whitehall Rd., 49445) with Pastor Bill Uetricht officiating. Facial coverings and continued social distance practices are highly recommended. Limited seating will be available, you are encouraged to bring lawn chairs if available.
