Richard Lee Friday's Obituary
Mr. Richard Lee Friday, 72, passed away Friday, August 12, 2022, in Muskegon. He was born December 22, 1949, to Joseph and Donna (Endres) Friday in Muskegon and was a lifelong resident. Rich leaves his earthly journey and is now making his Heavenly journey to meet Jesus, his parents, his sister Cheryl, and nephews Brandon, Michael, and Colin. Rich graduated from Muskegon Catholic Central in 1968. He then went to the Maritime Academy in Traverse City from 1969 – 1972 and was in the U.S. Navy on the ship Sacremento from 1973 – 1978. He was a mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service for 22 years before retiring. He married Nancy Daniels on May 1, 1981, and they had 41 wonderful years together and raising six children: Stepdaughter, Katy (Ron) and stepson, Shane (Angela); three daughters: TeAnna (Drew), Marissa, and Annika, and one son Stephen; grandchildren: Logan, Loryn, Kadance and Avery. Rich has cherished being from a family of seven children: Ron (Sandy) Friday, Larry (Rita) Friday, Tom (Pat) Friday, Pat (Michael) Bray, Michael Friday; brother-in-law, Terry Sladik. Nancy’s family who really loved Rich: Eleanor, Judi (Bob), Sherry (Mike), David (Anita), Michelle, Kathy (Mike), Eric (Anna). The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, August 19, at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Visitation at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444, will be Thursday, August 18, from 4- 7 PM, with the Rosary prayed at 7:00 PM. Interment will take at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Rich may be made to The Harbor Hospice Foundation or the Bureau of the Blind (BSBP), 702 W. Kalamazoo, Lansing, MI 48909, Attn: Mike Pemble.
