Richard DeWitt Hallberg Jr.'s Obituary
Mr. Richard DeWitt Hallberg Jr., age 70, passed away at his home on Friday, January 15, 2021 following a short illness. He was born in Muskegon on May 2, 1950 to Richard and Barbara (Dausey) Hallberg Sr. Rick was a veteran of the United States Navy and served in the Vietnam War. He was employed by Franks Plumbing and Heating for 23 years prior to his retirement in 2012. Rick was meticulous about his yard, enjoyed buying classic cars, and loved to spoil his dogs. On March 10, 1990, Rick married the former Barbara J. Wierengo in North Muskegon and she survives him along with three children, Brett (Kim) Hallberg, Tracy Hallberg, Ryan (Angie) Hallberg; seven grandchildren, Brennan, Karlee, Alexa, Corey, Evan, Connor, Bryce; one great-great granddaughter, Kaya; brother, Edward (Coleen) Hallberg; sisters, Linnea Hallberg and Robin (Greg) Civis; and his faithful dogs, Oliver and Brandee. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Kathy Boutel. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held.
