Richard Hayes' Obituary
Mr. Richard E. Hayes, age 88, passed away Sunday morning, January 11, 2004 in Muskegon. He was born June 12, 1915 to George and Edith (Tidrow) Hayes in Georgetown, IL, and lived most of his life in the Muskegon area, moving back here from Ohio several years ago. He worked at the Norge for many years, and retired from the State of Ohio Liquor Commission. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, belonged to the Muskegon Heights Eagles, and the First Christian Church, where he was a Deacon Emeritus. On July 18, 1959 he married Norma Reneer. She preceded him in death in 2001. SURVIVORS include 1 daughter, Carmen Hayes of Muskegon; 1 brother, James R. “Buck” (Marilyn) Hayes of Norton Shores; his grand-dog, Snowball. SERVICES will be 1:00 PM Wednesday at the First Christian Church, 2755 Holton Rd, with Reverend Stephen K. Fisher officiating. VISITATION will be 1 hour prior to the service.
