Richard Hocking Jr.'s Obituary
Mr. Richard Jerry Hocking Jr., age 88, passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2023 in Grand Haven. He was born in Muskegon on April 23, 1935 to Richard and Julia (Meyers) Hocking. Richard was employed by Muskegon Piston Ring for 30 years prior to his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, reading, and was a master woodworker. On July 13, 1981, Richard married the former Patricia Horvath in Muskegon and she survives him along with daughter, Diane (Kyle) Long; step-daughter, Melisa (Jeff) Miller; grandchildren, Brandi (Chad) Sherman, Linda (Robby) Taylor, Madison (Élea) Miller, and Hannah Miller; and great-grandchildren, Chase, Kylie, and Kalab. According to Richard’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held. Arrangements by The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 1547 W.
