Richard K. "Dick" Iverson's Obituary
Richard K. “Dick” Iverson, age 80, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2020. He was born June 6, 1940 in Spring Lake, MI to Kenneth V. and Helen M. (Schurina) Iverson and lived in the area all of his life. On March 16, 1975, he married Karen Louise Cloud in Muskegon. Dick worked as a project manager for Amstore Corp. and retired in 1999 after 40 years of service. Dick was a very active member of Forest Park Covenant Church where he sang in the choir, served on the Prayer Team, and volunteered in the Men’s Group. Dick also took a mission trip to Alaska with Forest Park where they helped build Alaskan Christian College. Dick was very social and loved people. He could make friends with anyone. He was an avid sportsman and loved the Detroit Red Wings, and MSU sports teams. Dick enjoyed salmon and trout fishing as well as rifle and bow hunting. Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Karen L. Iverson; 3 daughters, Kelly (Kenneth) Griswold, Collette Taylor, Nicolle (Eugene) Van Dyke; 3 grandsons, Spenser Taylor, Chase Taylor, David Griswold; 1 sister, Sally (Marshall) Cook; and his special canine companion, Simon. Dick was preceded in death by a very special grandson, Nicholas “Nick” Iverson in 2008. A memorial service for Dick will be planned for a later time. Memorial Contributions may be directed to Forest Park Covenant Church, Ravenna Conservation Club or the Harbor Hospice Foundation.
