Richard Johnson's Obituary
Mr. Richard Johnson, age 92, of Spring Lake passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at his home. He was born May 23, 1921 in Minneapolis, Minn. to Andrew and Rose (Roache) Johnson.
Richard was a member of Nortonville Gospel Chapel. He served his country in the US Army in WWII. Richard was an avid golfer, who loved all sports, but baseball and the Detroit Tigers were his favorite.
On October 7, 1946 he married the former Betty Borchers in New Era, MI and she survives him along with 3 children: Brian “Bo” Johnson of Spring Lake, Lee Ann (Phillip) Kenyon of Hart, David (Linda) Johnson of Sun Valley, Idaho; 2 grandsons, Kevin (Heather) Kenyon and Andy (Allison) Kenyon; 3 great-grandchildren, Henry and Violet Kenyon, and Max Tripp. He is also survived by 1 brother, Russell Johnson of Spring Lake and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Robert and Wesley Johnson; mother and father-in-law Fred and Jessie Borchers.
A memorial service will take place 11:00 AM Monday, September 16, 2013 at Nortonville Gospel Chapel with Rev. Dennis Snyder officiating. Interment will take place in Spring Lake Cemetery.
