Richard L. Kitchen's Obituary
Mr. Richard L. Kitchen, age 72, passed away at his home on Friday, March 21, 2025 with his family by his side. He was born in Muskegon, Michigan on January 22, 1953 to William and Zora (Lee) Kitchen. Richard spent eight years driving a truck for Carpenter Brothers, several years as a school bus driver, and he ran the Elks Lodge for 21 years prior to his retirement. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed working in his yard. Richard also enjoyed singing, dancing, traveling, and had an amazing sense of humor. On April 4, 1985, Richard married his loving wife, the former Debra A. Mitchell, in Muskegon and she survives him along with two children, Richard Kitchen Jr. and Alexander Johnson Jr.; three grandchildren, Amarian Johnson, Alexandra Johnson, and Zaria Love; fifteen siblings; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Friday, April 4, 2025 at Upper Room Church Ministries, 1460 Catherine Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442 with Pastor Jerry L. Riley Sr. presiding. VISITATION with Richard’s family will be one hour prior to his service. Burial will be in Mona View Cemetery.
