Richard T. Kring's Obituary
Richard Thomas Kring, Age 75 went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 1, 2013 after losing his battle with cancer. He was born May 19th, 1937 in Muskegon MI to William (Pat) and Dorothy Kring. He has been a lifetime resident of Whitehall, MI but since retirement has also been able to enjoy the warm winter sun of Southern Florida. While being handy in many areas, Mr. Kring was self-employed most of his adult life as the owner of Rich’s Auto Mart. He enjoyed time with his family, traveling, history, cars, fishing and golf. He was an active member of the Whitehall Evangelical Covenant Church and volunteered with Missionary Flights while in Florida. He enjoyed 50 years of marriage with his late wife Ruth C. (Visger) Kring, and he is survived by their 5 children, Marjorie (John) Dykema of San Diego CA, Mark (Lori) Kring of Williamston, Mike (Pam) Kring of Whitehall, Mitch (Helen) Kring of Allendale, Kathleen (Tony) Lau of Denver, CO; 19 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother John (Carol) Kring; and sister-in-law Joyce Johnson. He was also preceded in death by his parents and his sister Joan Baxter. Richard is also survived by his loving wife Joyce Carpenter-Kring, whom he married December 8th, 2007. Rich felt very blessed to be able to share Joyce’s companionship, travel, and spend time with her family (Randy Johnson, Shelly Evans, Sam Johnson, Suzanne Beckeman) who quickly became an integral part of his life. SERVICES will be on Saturday, March 9th at 11:00 am at the Evangelical Covenant church of Whitehall (900 S Warner St, Whitehall, MI 49461) with Pastor Mark Kring officiating and luncheon to follow.
