Richard Lee Kuhn's Obituary
Richard Lee Kuhn, 90, of Ferrysburg, Michigan (formerly of Lakeland, Michigan), died Sunday May 23, 2021, at Grand Village Assisted Living and Memory Care in Grandville, Michigan.
He was born September 13, 1930, to Albert and Myrtle Kuhn in New Kensington, Pennsylvania. Richard married Elizabeth Berezny on August 21, 1954, in Springdale, Pennsylvania.
Richard and Elizabeth moved to Ferrysburg in 2002 after living 32 years in Lakeland, Michigan. Elizabeth passed away on April 25, 2003. He moved to the Lincoln Square Independent Living in 2019 and then moved to Grand Village in 2020.
Richard had been employed by American Airlines, North Central Airlines, Republic Airlines, and Northwest Airlines from 1954 until retiring in May 1994, culminating a 40 year career in line maintenance all in Detroit. He loved reading military history books and had built up quite a library over the years. He also loved the aircraft of World War II, warbirds as they are referred to and enjoyed going to airshows. He loved his family, including his four grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
Survivors include his son, Lance (Lowrie) Kuhn of Saugatuck, Michigan, daughter, Cathy Jo Porter of Grand Rapids, Michigan, daughter, Justina Kuhn (Lisa Eddy) of Grandville, Michigan and son, Todd Kuhn of Chicago, Illinois; four grandchildren: Kerri Kovalik of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Emily Kuhn of Chicago, Illinois, Lane Porter of Fowlerville, Michigan and AC Story of Grandville, Michigan; one great granddaughter, Madeline Kovalik of Kalamazoo, Michigan; one sister, Ellen Larene (Richard) Parsley of Matthews, North Carolina, one brother, Charles Thomas (Carrie) Kuhn of Plum, Pennsylvania and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth, sister, Dorothy Elliott, and brothers, Albert (Bud) Jr. and William Kuhn.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting contributions in Richard’s name be made to the Alzheimer’s & Dementia Foundation or to the Kindred Hospice in Grand Rapids.
