Mr. Richard Lee Lappo's Obituary
Mr. Richard Lee Lappo, age 74, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at his home in North Muskegon. He was born in Muskegon, MI on July 16, 1940 to Leo and Hattie (Senkowski) Lappo. Dick graduated from Muskegon Catholic Central High school and continued his education at Michigan Technological University where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering. He had been employed as a Professional Civil Engineer with Johnson and Anderson for over 30 years before his retirement. Dick was an avid outdoorsman and was a member of the Muskegon Conservation Club, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and the Disabled Sportsman Club. He was an accomplished wood carver, a master angler and enjoyed hunting, fishing and tying flies. Dick was a caring man and a loving father that would do anything for his daughters. He loved his dog Minnie and he trained her to be a therapy dog. Dick enjoyed taking Minnie to local nursing homes to help brighten other people’s days. He is survived by his two daughters, Kimmy Lappo and Karmen Lappo; his sister, Marilyn Felinski and his sweet little dog, Minnie. A CELEBRATION OF DICK’S LIFE will be held at 4:00 PM Thursday, December 4, 2014 at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., 231-759-8565. VISITATION will be from 3-4 PM Thursday. MEMORIALS may be made to the Muskegon Conservation Club.
