I keep thinking this isn't real. My papa was supposed to help me move this spring to South Haven, to teach me how to drive a stick for the 100th time, to walk me down the aisle on my wedding day and dance with me for the father daughter dance. There was so much more I wanted to do with him and experience with him. But instead of being mad about the time I can't spend with him now I will cherish and focus on the memories I did have him. I hold my papa in a a special place in my heart that no one will ever be able to replace. I will remember the good and the crazy times him and I shared.

They say you only have a couple of real friend in your life time. Last week, I lost one of them.
Dick was a friend for over 60 years. He was a generous, honest and full of humor kind of guy. Read the memories that have been written about him and you get a true picture of a wonderful person. Our thoughts and prayers are with Dick's family on this day of celebration of his wonderful life.

Dick lived with a twinkle in his eye. Within him, there seem to reside a holy energy that engaged us and claimed us. He had a wonderful way of asking questions that conveyed his interest and his kindness. He lifted our spirits. He loved his family, and he loved us. And Dick was an absurdly persistent fisherman from the boat or on the ice.
We give God thanks for this gentle soul who generously, graciously through the years touch our lives.

I have never know a more caring man, I was lucky to have known Dick for 17 years. Thanks for always offering to let us use your toys, of which he had many. Dick treated me like a daughter, and my children like his grandchildren, there was always Push Ups in the freezer for Gracie when she came over. Dick also had a terrific sense of hummer, He would call and tell me the Eagle has farted, can you do some work for me. I think he just hired me to be nice, not cause he really needed the work done, but that was how he was, always thinking about others. He was so full of life you never could tell when he was sick, didn't want anyone to worry about him. Dick went a very long time without a special person in his life because he didn't need someone to take care of him, he was waiting for the perfect woman, and I am so happy that he found Gwen, she loved him, and took care of him while he was ill, and she kept up with him when he wasn't, my heart smiles when I think about how lucky he was to have found her. I will always remember the kind of man Dick was. All my love to the family, how blessed I am to have been your friend. Rest peacefully sweet man, no worries.
Dick was a great guy. He was very generous, very caring, and fun to be around. Knowing him was a gift. He will be missed by many.
