Richard O. "Rich" Leet's Obituary
Richard Othello “Rich” Leet, age 81, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2019. He was born May 13, 1938 in Gratiot County, MI to Othello and Bessie (Tubbs) Leet. Rich was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of the Holland Seventh-day Adventist Church. On November 9, 1961, he married the former Carolee Ann Smith in Cedar Lake, MI. Rich worked 22 years as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) for Anesthesia Associates of Muskegon until his retirement in 1999. He enjoyed gardening and camping, but more importantly, he loved spending time with his family. SURVIVORS include his wife, Carolee; 3 children: Penny (Michael) Velthuis, Melissa (Clark) Neu, Theron (Cheri) Leet; 9 grandchildren: Steven (Jen) Velthuis, James (Alyssa) Velthuis, Kristopher (Melissa Page) Velthuis, Justin Neu, Ashley Neu, Stefanie Leet, Samantha Schneider, Shawna Leet, and Ryan Leet; 7 great-grandchildren: Ryan, Alayna, Brody, Sawyer, Caden, Landon, and Colton; 2 brothers: William (Ada) Leet, Leonard (Joyce) Leet; sister, Lois Rocha; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers: Dale and Bob Leet. A MEMORIAL SERVICE for Rich will be held 4:00 PM Saturday, September 21, 2019 at the Holland Seventh-day Adventist Church (11279 E. Ottogan St., Holland, MI 49423). MEMORIALS in Rich’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
