Richard A. Mars' Obituary
Mr. Richard A. Mars, age 71, passed away on February 14, 2013 at Hackley Campus. He was born on December 15, 1941 to Wiebe and Shirley (Anderson) Mars in Muskegon. Rick had worked for Anderson Global as a pattern maker prior to his retirement in 2006. He volunteered at the Linné Viking Lodge #57 where he was a member. He also belonged to the Lakeside Vets Club. Rick enjoyed spending time with his grandsons, watching NASCAR, and listening to classical music. He was a devoted and generous father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by his family and friends. SURVIVORS include 2 daughters, Colleen Mars and Kathy Mars; 2 grandchildren Matthew and Nathan; 2 brothers, James (Linda) Mars and Doug Mars; dear friend, Ellen Porter and former spouse, Karen Bourdon. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters, Barbara Duff and Marilyn Hittle. MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00AM Saturday, February 23, 2013 at The Walburn Chapel 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. 231-759-8565 with Pastor David Sieplinga officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, please consider the Viking Scholarship Fund.
