Richard "Bud" Meyers' Obituary
Mr. Richard “Bud” Meyers, age 79, of Spring Lake, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at home. He was born June 15, 1939 in Grand Haven to Harold and Cora (Kramer) Meyers. In 1966, he married Anne Henning in Spring Lake.
Bud was a veteran of the US Navy and was a member of the Charles A. Conklin American Legion Post 28 and the VFW Post 446 in Muskegon. He worked as a police officer for the Grand Haven Public Safety and was also the Jail administrator for Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department, later working for Bastian Blessing and Hopkins Street Limited. Bud enjoyed farming and gardening, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandson, Calvin, especially every Wednesday when Grandpa picked him up from school and they were able to share their special time together.
He is survived by his wife, Anne; two children, Jeffery (Alycia) Meyers of Caledonia, Jen (Kevin) Anderson of Fruitport; grandson, Calvin Anderson; sister, Gloria (Duane) Burkhart; aunt Virginia Wester; cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two siblings, Carole Meyers, and George Meyers.
