Richard Joseph Novak's Obituary
Richard Joseph Novak, age 80, passed away Monday, January 9, 2023, at The Leila & Cyrus Poppen Hospice Residence. He was born October 15, 1942, in Detroit, MI to Joseph and Gertrude (Koper) Novak, and married Cheryl Brown on August 17, 1990.
Richard served his country in the Army, as a military policeman during the Cuban missile crisis, and also in the Army National Guard upon his return home. He worked for Ford Motor Company in computer sales and marketing for twenty five years. Richard loved playing his X-Box and working on his computer. He also loved reading, military history, Tom Clancy or Patterson mystery books. Richard was also a proud member of The Charles A. Conklin American Legion Post # 28 in Grand Haven and The Eagles.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Cheryl Novak; children, Maggie (Russ) Miller, Christian (Jodi) Novak, John Novak, Ken (Cindy) Brown, Craig (Brenda) Brown and Erin (Eric) Seckner; eleven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his sister, Judy (David) Clark; and brother, Dennis (Kandi) Nowak; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of life will be held in the spring. Arrangements entrusted to The VanZantwick Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 620 Washington Ave., Grand Haven, MI 49417.
