Richard L. Orling's Obituary
Richard L. Orling, age 89, passed away on July 6, 2024, in Muskegon, Michigan surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Muskegon, on March 9, 1935, to Lyman and Harriett (Wise) Orling. He married the love of his life, Marilyn A. (Derby) Orling on June 25, 1955. Richard worked for Brunswick, being promoted over his career to become a machinist. He retired after 46 years. Richard was also a Navy Reservist and was proud to support and represent his county. He enjoyed hunting with his family, gardening and taking meticulous care of his lawn. His home was his haven. Richard spent many hours in his beloved shop where he worked with wood to create treasured family heirlooms. He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn (Derby) Orling; children: Bryan (Maravic) Orling and Kevin (Melinda) Orling; sisters: Bonnie (Andy) Milliman and Sandra Pierce with Andy Golightly. Six grandsons and nine great-grandchildren. Richard is preceded by his parents; Lyman and Harriett (Wise) Orling; infant grandson; Christopher Orling; uncle; Marv and Vidy Orhling: Aunt: Jack and Dorthy Gustavson and several cousins.
