SSG Richard D. Patronik's Obituary
SSG Richard D. Patronik, age 62, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at the Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence. Richard was born June 26, 1949 to Miroslav L. and Beverly (Kiddoo) Patronik in Chicago. He was a 20 year and 2 day veteran of U.S. Army working as a Tactical Communications Chief and serving during Vietnam. He also worked as a stage hand for operas, ballets and concerts for various venues, retiring in 2009; and was a member of International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees Union Local 26. On December 30, 1967 he married Sharon L. Martin in Muskegon. Rich was an active member of Covenant Community Church and DeColores #272. He was also a member of Grandparents Raising Grandchildren and a previous member of the VFW in Kansas. Richard loved to fish and golf, but most of all he loved his grandchildren, two of whom he raised. Rich is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon; 2 daughters, Stacy (Mark) Sorensen of Norton Shores and Cassandra Patronik of Allendale; grandchildren, Kylee and Kyra and Robert and Andrew Sorensen; great-grandchildren, Andrew III and Ariana Sorensen; brother, Michael Patronik of Chicago, IL; step-mother, Nancy Patronik; and aunt, Lillian Groesch. Rich was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Saturday at Covenant Community Church (134 E. Barney, Muskegon Hts.) with Rev. Mark Bush officiating. Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION with the family will be 5-8 PM Friday at The Lee Chapel 6291 S. Harvey St. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Community Church Outreach or Harbor Hospice.
