Richard "Rich" Roy Rafferty Sr.'s Obituary
Richard “Rich” Roy Rafferty Sr., age 74, passed away Friday, April 2, 2021. He was born February 25, 1947 in Muskegon to Roy and Anna (Eklund) Rafferty. Rich married the former Suzanne Kay Robinson in 2009 and she preceded him in death on December 12, 2018. He is survived by sons Brett (Cherie) Bayne, Rich Rafferty Jr., Patrick Rafferty, Trent (Kristie) Hatinger and daughter Kimberly Rafferty, multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sisters Sandra (Terry) Anderson, Christine (Karl) Schmitt, Dawn Rafferty, Linda Bates, and Deborah Brown, brothers Thomas Tallquist, Denny Brown and Steve Rafferty, several nieces and nephews. Rich was also preceded in death by his parents and sister Merry Matthews. Rich was very social. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Lakeside Eagles and had been a volunteer fireman with the Norton Shores fire department for many years. He loved hunting, sitting by the fire with good friends, having a nice fish dinner at the Lithuanian Club, and was always willing to help anybody who had a need. He is also survived by his best four-legged friend BlackJack (BJ). He will be desperately missed by his loving family and close friends. PRIVATE family services will be held.
