Richard James Seyffert's Obituary
Mr. Richard J. Seyffert, age 70, of Spring Lake passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2016. He was born December 16, 1945 in Grand Rapids to Edward “Roy” and Margaret “Bernice” (Widemeyer) Seyffert.
Richard was a long-time member of both St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Grand River Sailing Club. He was an avid sailor, and passionate about most anything related to enjoying the lakes of Michigan. He was also an avid photographer and enjoyed riding his horses.
He is survived by three sons: Matthew (Kara) Seyffert of Grand Rapids, David Seyffert of Carmel, IN, and Neil (Patricia) Seyffert of New York, NY; granddaughter, Vivienne Seyffert; sister, Anita Weykamp; brother, Roy (Carolyn) Seyffert; many nieces and nephews; and Little Brother (BBBS) Bruce Blinkhorn. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Bernice; nephew, David Weykamp; and brother-in-law, Gerard Weykamp.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 2016, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. Father Norm Droski officiating. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 8, at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven. Interment will take place in Lake Forest Cemetery.
